Description : When high sound attenuation is required, the mechanical equipment shall be provided with an acoustic enclosure. The inside surface is lined with absorptive material such as mineral wool to limit the sound reverberation in the enclosure. Reduction of up to 30dB or more can be achieved with a careful design. All kinds of pipes and duct penetrations through the acoustic enclosure should have a clearance hole surrounded by mineral wool and covered by a plate and sealant.
